Terms of Service
Last updated: March 26, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Life Lessons mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Life Lessons ("we," "our," or "us").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a family, you represent that you have the authority to bind your family to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the Service.
- The Service is designed for parents and legal guardians to create content for their children. Children may access content shared with them through the Service, but may not create accounts independently.
- By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
3. Account Registration and Security
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at admin@streeterlabs.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that appear to be compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.
- You may not create multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing plan limitations or these Terms.
4. Your Content
4.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create through the Service, including text lessons, voice recordings, and any other materials ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.
4.2 License to Us
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license exists only for the duration of your use of the Service and terminates upon account deletion.
4.3 Content Restrictions
While Life Lessons is a private platform and we do not monitor content, you agree not to use the Service to:
- Create, store, or transmit content that is illegal under applicable law.
- Engage in any activity that could harm, abuse, or exploit minors.
- Store content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose unrelated to its intended use of creating personal family wisdom.
4.4 Content Backup and Export
While we take every precaution to protect your data, we strongly recommend that Premium users regularly export their lessons as a personal backup. We are not liable for data loss caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
5. Subscription Plans and Payments
5.1 Free Plan
The Free plan provides access to core features at no cost, including unlimited text lessons, one parent account, up to four children, and all age buckets and topics. We reserve the right to modify Free plan features with reasonable notice.
5.2 Premium Plans
Premium plans (Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime) provide access to additional features as described on our pricing page. Premium features include voice narration recording, voice narration, lesson export functionality, and additional capabilities.
5.3 Billing
- All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your purchase is subject to the payment terms of the respective platform.
- Monthly and Yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Lifetime Access is a one-time payment that provides permanent access to all Premium features.
5.4 Refunds
- Refunds for subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their respective refund policies.
- Lifetime Access purchases may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not substantially used Premium features. Contact admin@streeterlabs.com to request a refund.
5.5 Price Changes
We may change our subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will not affect current subscription periods but will apply to subsequent renewal periods. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increases. Lifetime Access pricing is locked in at the time of purchase.
5.6 Account Continuity and Long-Term Data Retention
Life Lessons is designed to store content—including voice recordings and future-reveal lessons—that may be intended for delivery years or even decades into the future. To ensure that your content remains available over the long term, please be aware of the following retention policy:
- Active subscription required: Premium content (voice recordings and lessons configured for future reveal) is retained only for as long as your Monthly or Yearly subscription remains active. If your subscription lapses, Premium content is subject to removal after a grace period as described below.
- 30-day grace period: Upon lapse of a Monthly or Yearly subscription, a 30-day grace period begins. During this period your Premium content remains intact and your account continues to function at the Free tier. If you renew your subscription before the grace period ends, your Premium content will be fully restored. If you do not renew within 30 days of lapse, we reserve the right to permanently delete your Premium content, including voice recordings and future-reveal lesson configurations.
- Lifetime Access exemption: Accounts holding a Lifetime Access plan are permanently exempt from this retention requirement. Your Premium content will be retained for the life of the Service regardless of any future pricing or subscription changes.
- Notice: We will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email when your subscription has lapsed and again before the grace period expires, so you have an opportunity to renew and preserve your content.
6. Voice Narration Feature
- The voice narration feature allows Premium users to record their own voice narration or use AI-generated voice narration for their lessons.
- Voice recordings are stored securely and are subject to the same privacy protections as all other content.
- AI-generated narration is processed using third-party services. The text of your lesson is sent to these services solely for the purpose of generating audio. No lesson content is retained by these third-party services after processing.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring that the content of your voice recordings complies with applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Life Lessons and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission.
7.2 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback into the Service without any obligation to you.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or for any marketing purpose.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity.
9. Service Availability and Modifications
- We strive to maintain the availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, updates, and unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary downtime.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice when practical.
- In the event of permanent Service discontinuation, we will provide at least 90 days' notice and a mechanism for users to export their content before the Service ceases.
10. Termination
10.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at admin@streeterlabs.com or through the account settings in the app. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
10.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms or any applicable law.
- Your account appears to be compromised or is being used for fraudulent purposes.
- We are required to do so by law or a legal authority.
We will provide notice before termination when reasonably possible and will give you the opportunity to export your content unless termination is due to illegal activity.
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Active subscriptions will not be automatically refunded upon termination for cause. For details on how Premium content—including voice recordings and future-reveal lessons—is handled when a subscription lapses or an account is terminated, please refer to Section 5.6 (Account Continuity and Long-Term Data Retention).
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Any defects will be corrected.
- The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.
- The results of using the Service will meet your requirements.
Life Lessons is a tool for personal expression and family communication. We are not a licensed counseling, therapy, or parenting advisory service. The Service should not be used as a substitute for professional advice.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LIFE LESSONS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your content.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months prior to the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Life Lessons and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any rights of any third party.
- Your Content.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at admin@streeterlabs.com. We will try to resolve the dispute within 60 days of receiving your written notice.
14.2 Arbitration
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and Life Lessons agree to resolve any claims through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify. Arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
14.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND LIFE LESSONS AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS TO RESOLVE DISPUTES WILL BE CONDUCTED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. If this waiver is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void.
14.4 Exceptions
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in court for matters related to intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the app and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the new terms take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion.
17. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Life Lessons regarding your use of the Service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
- Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, or internet service disruptions.
